Governmental mediocrity, absurdity and lunacy

Sometimes you just wonder what is happening to our society. We want so much, but do so little. The government does everything it can to overcome this and that, but simultaneously it is the source and cause of everything that is happening in the first place.

 It wants society to be progressive but does everything it can to castrate its growth.

It wants justice and goes all out to create the institutions of justice but at the same time does everything that is totally contrary to the notion of justice.

It wants economic growth; creates this council and that, but at the same time it rewards inefficiency and allows cronyism.

It wants Malaysian society to have intellect and be creative, but take a look at this;

Quick step as Rosmah conquers sky bridge

KUALA LUMPUR: Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor showed the stuff she was made of yesterday when she overcame her gayat (acrophobia or fear of heights) while on the 170m high sky bridge of the Petronas Twin Towers.

The prime minister’s wife and Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (Bakti) president’s secret was to walk quickly across the 58.4m-long bridge.

“I am gayat but walked fast (across the sky bridge),” she told reporters after leading a group of 42 Bakti members on an educational tour of the Twin Towers.

It was clearly a case of leadership by example by Rosmah who later adjourned for lunch at a restaurant on the 42nd floor of Tower 2, none the worse for the earlier experience. @NST

 So sometimes you wonder; what absurdity and lunacy in this country we live in.

Let’s get every citizen of Malaysia to walk across this bridge, that’ll propel us into a first world nation.
